entry into cyberspace

I first stepped into cyber space about a decade ago. I was a freshie in college. Since then I meet friends and members of my gene pool, do research, read books, study, listen to music and do a gazillion things in this inexhaustible realm. A few years back, there was this TV advertisement featuring a monk telling a traveler that "everything you need to know is on the net". One of the fascinating things about the net, which is one of the greatest inventions made by humans is that, access to people and information is literally at your fingertips. One can even reach several places in a single time. This used to be called magic or sorcery centuries ago. Looking at the other side of the coin, however, end users resort to abuse in different forms: whether sexual, economic, intelectual, political, etc. Pornography. Cybersex. Human Trafficking. Harassment. Black propaganda.I also remember one of Sandra Bullocks movies, "The Net", where her life was put to danger after her identity has been tampered with. This is one of the things that scare people. And this is what I don't like about it.There are many sites that i surf into. I do admit, though, that Friendster, is one of my top faves. Consider this juvenile, but, it makes you connect with people you have nveer imagined you will meet again...Well, i do like the news sites also...it keeps everyone infomed of what's happening to the rest of the world...and even the rest of the universe [Photo]
